On January 20, 2017, DAT solutions made an announcement that gave birth to the largest load board in existence. Getloaded, a leading load board for smaller freight brokers and carriers, has been integrated into the DAT network of load boards, further expanding the industry’s largest on-demand freight exchange. The acquisition expanded the already diverse DAT in terms of equipment types and loads from specialized brokers.

The acquisition propelled both companies into becoming the industry leading load boards, as they now offer greater capacity and load volume for van, reefers, flatbed, and specialty freight. Getloaded and DAT used to be independent operation databases before the merge occurred.
With the combination of DAT and Getloaded, DAT received a 36 percent increase in the number of carriers who accesses the DAT network of load boards compared to their statistics from the past year. The consolidation gave brokers access to the largest and rapidly growing database of available trucks.
watch On the other hand, former GetLoaded carriers can now access 400 percent more load per day after the acquisition. With the announcement of a mobile load board app connecting truckers where they work, the acquisition can be seen as a boon to both carriers and brokers.
“In this case, bigger really is better. On the spot market, carriers want to choose from as much freight as possible, and brokers want to connect with as many quality trucks that can deliver freight on a lane,” said Don Thornton, Senior Vice President of DAT solutions.
The acquisition is the latest among a string of expansions made by DAT. Recently, the company relocated to a 55,000-square foot, state-of-the-art facility in Portland Oregon while expanding its technical and engineering staff and its data science department to better address the needs of an ever-changing industry.
